Privacy Policy

How I collect, use and look after your personal information.

Introduction

New Zealand Dream Weddings 2015 Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) complies with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 (the Act) when dealing with personal information. Personal information is information about an identifiable individual (a natural person). This policy sets out how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information. It does not limit or exclude any of your rights under the Act. For further information on the Act, see privacy.org.nz.

Changes to this policy

We may change this policy by uploading a revised version to this website. The change applies from the date it is uploaded.

What we collect, and where it comes from

We collect personal information directly from you — when you send an enquiry through this website, email us, phone us, or book a wedding with us. An enquiry through our contact form typically includes your name, email address, phone number, preferred wedding date and the details of the day you have in mind. We may also collect information from third parties where you have authorised it or where the information is publicly available.

How we use your personal information

We use your personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and communicate with you about your wedding;
  • plan and provide our services to you, including bookings with the celebrant, photographer, helicopter operator and other suppliers involved in your day;
  • verify your identity where needed for legal paperwork (such as your marriage licence);
  • invoice you and process payments;
  • respond to any communication from you, including a complaint;
  • protect and/or enforce our legal rights and interests, including defending any claim; and
  • any other purpose authorised by you or the Act.

Disclosing your personal information

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • the suppliers involved in delivering your wedding (for example the celebrant, photographer and helicopter operator), to the extent needed to plan and run your day;
  • any business that supports our services, including providers that host this website or deliver our email (our contact form is processed by Cloudflare and delivered to us by an email service);
  • a person who can require us to supply your personal information (for example a regulatory authority);
  • any other person authorised by the Act or another law (for example a law-enforcement agency); and
  • any other person authorised by you.

A business that supports our services may be located outside New Zealand, which may mean your personal information is held and processed outside New Zealand.

Protecting your personal information

We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe from loss, unauthorised activity and other misuse.

Accessing and correcting your personal information

Subject to certain grounds for refusal set out in the Act, you have the right to access the readily retrievable personal information we hold about you and to request a correction. Before we act on a request we will need evidence that you are the person the information relates to. To exercise either right, email donna@weddingsnewzealand.com with the details of your request. If we do not make a requested correction, we will take reasonable steps to note your request on the information. We may charge our reasonable costs of providing copies or making corrections.

Website, cookies and embedded content

This website does not require an account and does not run its own advertising or marketing trackers. Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to protect against automated abuse, which may set a cookie for that purpose. If we embed content from other websites (for example videos or maps), that content behaves as if you visited the other website, and the owner of that site may collect data about you under its own privacy policy. If you follow a link to another site, we suggest you review that site's privacy policy before providing personal information. While we take reasonable steps to maintain secure connections, information you send over the internet is provided at your own risk.
